Physical Optics Corporation Launches Intellisense Systems, Inc. Spinoff
TORRANCE, Calif., Feb. 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Physical Optics Corporation (POC) announced today it has completed the spin-off of Intellisense Systems, Inc. (Intellisense), a wholly owned subsidiary of POC. Located in Torrance, CA, Intellisense was launched with $24 million in revenue and currently employs 83 people. During 2018, Intellisense is expected to add an additional 25 new hires, and including POC's growth, are projected to bring a total of 100 new jobs to the Torrance area.

Our focus will continue to be in the areas of integrated sensors systems, integrated wearable technologies, deep learning, and display technologies. Our R&D areas will focus on augmented intelligence and software applications for hardware enhancements". The company's product line includes the Micro Weather Sensor™ (MWS™), which was developed for military and defense purposes, and was recently utilized in the recent California wildfires, provided critical and localized weather data to fire fighters.
