KENNESAW, Ga., Feb. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Piece of Cake takes the cake, Anywhere! And now they take the cake to Kennesaw residents with the grand opening of their newest location Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 2615 George Busbee Parkway NW Kennesaw, Georgia 30144.

Piece of Cake will celebrate with the community by giving free small cupcakes to the first 100 customers in line. The celebration will continue Saturday March 5th, 2016 when 94.9 The Bull is on location to give away free tickets to the sold out Thomas Rhett concert. Other prizes also include individual cakes and one prize basket from Piece of Cake. The giveaway will take place from noon to 2 p.m.

Piece of Cake was founded in 1985 by Melissa Bunnen, who has proudly watched the bakery grow to eight locations. Bunnen, with the help of her friend, Helen Cleveland, started the business from her apartment in Atlanta, where flour, sugar, and cake orders covered the room. Bunnen and Cleveland took every order and baked each cake, but the women quickly outgrew the space. Fast forward to 1995 and Bunnen acquired the well-known white cottage on Roswell Road in Buckhead and since then, her bakery has expanded, with the most recent addition being the Kennesaw location.

"Clients from Kennesaw were visiting our locations in Buckhead and Vinnings, so we knew it would be a perfect fit in the community," Bunnen said. "People are always celebrating something – families, friends, co-workers' birthdays. And we wanted help the residents of Kennesaw celebrate."

Piece of Cake's mouthwatering layer cakes, pound cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and brownies are all baked with the finest, all-natural ingredients from scratch each day.
