Pine Tree Recovery Center in Portland, ME Expands with Intensive Outpatient Services

PORTLAND, Maine, Feb. 27, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Pine Tree Recovery Center is proud to announce the expansion of their addiction treatment services to include a community-based Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This new level of care will be available on March 11, 2019 and helps Pine Tree Recovery Center better service the substance use disorder needs of the Portland, Maine community.

Pine Tree Recovery Center is a 22 bed medically monitored detox facility offering world-class addiction treatment services. They provide inpatient detox treatment and assist with sober living arrangements as part of their aftercare services.  Pine Tree has also offered family therapy and group therapy providing additional support. While residential inpatient treatment is appropriate for some clients, IOP services create a flexible option for others. For some clients, an Intensive Outpatient Program is used to shorten inpatient stay and continue high-quality treatment.

Pine Tree Recovery Center's IOP program will operate from Monday to Thursday and will have the capacity to serve up to 30 individuals suffering from substance use disorder. This 8 to 12-week program will serve as a vital treatment program for anyone in need of substance use treatment. The program provides:

• Transportation to and from groups
• Nutritional services
• Trauma-sensitive and gender-based groups
• Alternative therapies including breathwork, addiction and recovery yoga, and acupuncture
• Hands-on medical and psychiatric care
• Vivitrol services
• Family-focused treatment
• A comprehensive 12-step approach

The key difference between residential treatment and an Intensive Outpatient Program is flexible scheduling. Clients can return home each evening. If they have careers or other obligations, treatment can ordinarily be scheduled around those obligations. For people in recovery, IOP can restore a sense of normalcy and routine without sacrificing individualized, intensive treatment.
