SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Experticity today announced that Kevin Knight — one of Silicon Valley's leaders in authentic advertising and digital strategy for some of the world's most iconic startups and brands — has joined the company as chief marketing officer.
"Kevin is bringing very exciting and unique experience to Experticity and our growing client base," said Tom Stockham, CEO of Experticity. "He has worked with our team in an advisory capacity, and everyone who has had the privilege of working with him has been in awe of his knowledge and expertise, and loved the quality of the specific recommendations he has made. No one is better at helping brands succeed in reaching and building relationships with customers through social channels, and we could not be more excited to have Kevin join our team."
Knight comes to Experticity from Pinterest, where he served as the head of creative and brand strategy, leading the team that works directly with the company's largest clients and advertising agencies. He was also the primary creator and leader of the Pin Factory, an in-house content production studio, and led the company's industry relations, agency relations, insights and marketing communications teams during his tenure. At Pinterest, Knight worked closely with many of the most prominent companies and agencies in the global marketplace. Brands included Target, P&G, General Mills, Walmart, Unilever, PepsiCo, Gap, General Motors and Honda. Agencies included BBDO, Droga5, Deep Focus, Edelman, Mindshare, VaynerMedia, Ogilvy, and many others.
Before his time at Pinterest, Knight acquired a rare depth of expertise by serving in a series of roles with progressively greater levels of influence and responsibility at Microsoft, Google and Facebook. At Google, he developed innovative strategies for helping brands advertise more effectively on Google and YouTube. At Facebook, he led the development and execution of a host of social marketing strategies and campaigns, including some of the most impactful social campaigns ever created.
"I have dedicated most of my career to creating advertising and branding experiences that benefit both brands and consumers, and I've learned from the very best," said Knight. "My experience over the past year-and-a-half with Experticity has made it clear to me that the best way to connect people with the products and experiences they crave isn't through ads. It's through the authentic conversations they're already having with passionate experts. Experticity is the company best positioned to fill this consumer and market need, and I'm excited to help them get there."
