PITTSBURGH, June 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael Brewster, senior counsel in Burleson LLP's Pittsburgh office, will speak at the American Association of Professional Landmen's 61st Annual Meeting held in Nashville, Tenn., from June 17 through June 20.
Brewster will take part in a panel discussion on Thursday, June 18, titled "Comparative Review on Land Operations of the U.S. Regional Plays." The talk will provide an overview of active operators, counties, and wells in the Marcellus and Utica shale plays, and will deliver key insights on surface use, spacing and pooling issues impacting operations in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
"The Appalachian Basin is a unique region with a number of frequently occurring land concerns specific to the Mid-Continent shale plays," said Brewster. "This presentation will take a close look at the current activity in both the Marcellus and Utica formations, and provide landmen with the tools they need to recognize potential issues and reduce risks."
In addition to Brewster's participation in the panel discussion, Burleson is also sponsoring the conference's annual Cowboy Hall of Fame welcome reception on Wednesday, June 17.
Brewster has a broad background in oil and gas operational issues, transactional matters, due diligence projects, and title concerns. He negotiates and drafts documents for a wide variety of commercial transactions, including asset acquisitions, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, asset financing, leases, and purchase and sale agreements.
The 61st annual conference will cover a wide range of topics including ethics, environmental crisis management, well control emergencies, pipeline infrastructure, and energy legislation. For more information on the event, including how to register, click here.
