Kids' Shoe Brand Showcases New Styles at Its First-Ever Fashion Show

SAN FRANCISCO, July 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- In plenty of time for back to school, PLAE launches its autumn/winter collection. Inspired by the five elements: Earth, Wind, Fire, Water and Ether, each shoe in its "Elements Pack," is assigned a unique 'superpower' detailing the characteristics of each element.

Hosted by Modern Family's Aubrey Anderson-Emmons and her mom, comedian Amy Anderson at the historic Fort Mason Center in San Francisco, PLAE's first fashion show introduced the Fall '16 Collection, inspired by the five elements.

PLAE's new Kaiden shoe combines the sleek look of a hi-top with the durability of a waterproof hiking boot.

The new collection introduces three entirely new body types to an already dynamic array of styles:

Cam is a modern take on a slip-on constructed of synthetic nubuck and suede with a single tab closure.
Kaiden's sporty silhouette combines the sleek look of a hi-top with the durability of a waterproof hiking boot.
Claire is a knee-high boot constructed of suede and beautiful space knit fabric.

The collection also features new spins on popular existing silhouettes and thoughtful details including coated metallic leathers, vibrant colors and sophisticated knit fabrics.

PLAE previewed the collection Friday at its first-ever fashion show hosted by "Modern Family" star Aubrey Anderson-Emmons and her mother, comedian Amy Anderson. Held at Fort Mason in San Francisco, the event featured kid models on the runway as well as aerial and hip hop performances and live art by PLAE's "artist-in-residence" Oliver Black.

"At first we were concerned that the elements might be a little high concept," adds Ringholz. "We wondered, would kids get it? So, we asked them. Without missing a beat, they all responded, 'oh, you mean like Pokemon?' Kids are so much cooler than the rest of us."
