Platinum Luxury Auctions to Sell Custom-Built, Pierson Lakes Estate in New York

MANHATTAN, N.Y., July 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Platinum Luxury Auctions, a real estate auction firm specializing in the sale of multimillion-dollar properties for high-net worth individuals, has announced the August 21, 2015 auction offering for an elegant home within the Pierson Lakes community in Sterlington, New York, a small hamlet in Rockland County. Previously offered for $5 million, the lakefront estate will now be sold to the highest bidder at or above the auction's reserve price of $1 million. Platinum is conducting the sale in cooperation with listing broker Richard Ellis of Ellis Sotheby's International Realty in New York.

The residence offers the privacy and serenity of a suburban lifestyle, while being located just 45 minutes from New York City. "This estate is a wonderful escape for those who appreciate the natural beauty of the northeast, but don't want to sacrifice proximity to Manhattan," said Trayor Lesnock, Platinum's president. "When I first visited the property, I was coming off a busy few days in the city, and it was literally and metaphorically a giant breath of fresh air to arrive on site. It's a beautiful area."

Custom built by its current owners in 1997, the home was designed by Kenneth R. Nadler Architects, drawing inspiration from the owner's childhood home in the United Kingdom that was built by the infamous Adam Brothers, Scottish architects famous for their 18th-century neoclassical style and design. The welcoming and bright interiors also marry Georgian and Palladian architectural styles, resulting in an ambiance that is elegant without feeling stuffy.

The estate boasts over 10,000 interior square feet and three living levels, with eight bedrooms, seven full and one-half baths, and is situated on nearly seven acres of lakefront property. It's impressive entry consists of a grand, two-story foyer with a domed ceiling and a gently winding staircase leading to the second and lower levels. Beyond the foyer is a great room with double-height ceilings and large windows offering lake views. The main level of the home, partially outfitted in the same marble flooring used at the Vatican, also features a Clive Christian-designed kitchen and a circular breakfast room, in addition to the master suite and formal dining room. The master suite is complete with a fireplace, whirlpool tub, dressing room and sitting room, and has a private stairway that leads to the indoor lap pool. "The owners often roll out of bed and head right down to the lap pool for some morning exercise," added Lesnock. The community's beautiful, natural surroundings can be enjoyed from various terraces on the lakeside of the estate.

The residence is also appointed with a heated, 75-foot lap pool with a retractable cover, a media room, staff apartment, and a library. The automotive aficionado will enjoy the oversized, "drive-through" collector's garage that runs underneath the estate from one side to the other, with room for seven vehicles.

Outdoor features include a secluded pool with custom stone pavers and a stone diving ledge, a lakeside boathouse with a kitchenette, a private boat dock, and a tennis court.

The Pierson Lakes community is a private, guard-gated subdivision that includes only 74 home sites and encompasses more than 1,000 acres. A majority of the land is dedicated to natural preservation, ensuring the area will never become crowded. The "Lakes" for which the community is named include Cranberry Lake (103 acres) and Poteake Lake (92.5 acres).

"This home has a captivating charm," stated David Enriquez, Platinum's vice president of operations. "It has played host to quite a few swanky dinner parties and private events, which have included U.S. senators. And it's such a peaceful, private area to enjoy with family and friends."
