Playa Hotels & Resorts Appoint David Camhi General Counsel
FAIRFAX, Va., Jan. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Bruce Wardinski, President and Chief Executive Officer for Playa Hotels & Resorts today announced the appointment of David Camhi as General Counsel for the Company. Playa Hotels & Resorts was created in 2006 and invests in the acquisition and development of all-inclusive beachfront resorts in Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean. Presently the Company owns and operates 17 all-inclusive resorts in Mexico and the Dominican Republic operated under the Barcelo Hotels & Resorts flag, as well as various AMResort brands including Dreams and Secrets.
Mr. Camhi brings extensive international legal experience to Playa, coming from Phoenix Packaging Group, a privately held international company where he served as General Counsel. He has over 15 years of international experience, having practiced law at public and private companies and major law firms in New York, Florida, Mexico and Colombia. His practice focused on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate finance transactions as well as in general corporate, commercial and regulatory matters.

Mr. Camhi graduated with honors from Cornell Law School in Ithaca, NY with an LLM. He has an M.A. in Finance from CESA, Bogota Colombia and an LL.B. from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogota. He is licensed to practice law in the US, Colombia and Mexico.
