Point & Pay and the Wisconsin County Treasurers' Association Improve Electronic Tax Payments for Wisc.'s Local Government Agencies
TROY, Mich., Nov. 4, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Point & Pay (http://www.pointandpay.com), a wholly-owned subsidiary of North American Bancard, today announced a new business partnership with the Wisconsin County Treasurers' Association (WCTA), as well as the acquisition of six new clients within the state. These new relationships signal continued growth for Point & Pay, a leading provider of electronic payment solutions for government agencies and utilities.
Point & Pay has been selected over a field of competitors by the WCTA to be the association's new provider of tax payment systems. The systems enable Wisconsin citizens to pay local government taxes and fees online, over the phone or in a government office by using an American Express®, Discover®, MasterCard® or VISA® credit or debit card or e-check. The tax and fee collection services will be available to any of the WCTA's 72 counties, as well as municipalities within those counties.
As a result of Point & Pay's new partnership with the WCTA, six Wisconsin counties have already signed on to participate in the Point & Pay program, with many more scheduled to follow. Citizens of Brown County, Douglas County, Portage County, Price County, Outagamie County and Wood County will be able to use Point & Pay's systems to pay their balance due in advance of the Jan. 31, 2011 tax due date.
"Our six new Wisconsin county clients are providing citizens with a fast, convenient and secure payment option, and improving the accounting and reporting process for treasury employees," said Kevin Connell, President of Point & Pay. "Brown, Douglas, Portage, Price, Outagamie and Wood Counties are leading the way, and we look forward to providing our modern systems to more government offices in Wisconsin's counties and municipalities."
"The WCTA strives to promote ideas for operating efficiently and effectively as fiduciaries of our counties on behalf of the citizens of the State of Wisconsin. We chose Point & Pay because the company is best equipped to help us reach this goal, by providing high-quality, flexible systems that streamline our tax collections and accounting processes and improve our customer service," said Dina M. Mumford, Chair of the WCTA's Technology Committee and Treasurer of Outagamie County.
