Police Academy at Bryant & Stratton College Offered as Part of Criminal Justice Degree

AKRON, Ohio, May 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Bryant & Stratton College announced that it will be offering the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) to Akron and Cleveland area residents for college credit beginning in May 2014.

The OPOTA program at Bryant & Stratton College follows Ohio Attorney General certification guidelines to prepare candidates for service as police officers, and the College has cooperation from local municipalities to help prepare candidates for this certification.

As approved by the Ohio Board of Regents, Bryant & Stratton College will now offer 15 semester hours of college credit towards the Criminal Justice diploma, associate, or bachelor degree programs upon completion of OPOTA training.  The College will also award 15 credit hours for any previous completer of OPOTA training currently serving as a police officer.
