Pregis acquires Surface Guard; adds protective film, cohesive material, single-face corrugated to product portfolio

DEERFIELD, Ill., May 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Pregis Corporation, a leading supplier of protective packaging solutions, has acquired Surface Guard, Aurora, Ill., for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition will add new protective film, cohesive material and single-face corrugated manufacturing capability to Pregis' product portfolio.

Pregis will continue to operate Surface Guard's two Aurora facilities.  Its 79 employees will be joining Pregis' 2,000-member worldwide team.  Surface Guard founders James Heimann, Patrick Dillon and Steve Malinowski also will be joining Pregis.
