PREIT Announces Franklin Flea, a Modern Indoor Flea Market to Open in Historic Philadelphia Building at 8th and Market Streets

PHILADELPHIA, Pa., Nov. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT/NYSE: PEI) today announced the installation of Franklin Flea, a weekly winter market, to be housed in the historic Center City Philadelphia building at 8^th and Market Streets, most well known as the former home to Strawbridge & Clothier. Situated on a highly trafficked street above one of the region's busiest rail stops and connected to The Gallery, Franklin Flea is a new and easily accessible destination for Philadelphia residents, commuters, and tourists.

The winter flea market is modeled after the Brooklyn Flea, a wildly popular flea market highly praised by publications such as The New York Times and Travel & Leisure for its uniqueness and progressive style. Inside the historic venue, amongst its antique chandeliers, columns and accents, shoppers will find an exclusive collection of over forty vendors all local to the Greater Philadelphia region. The merchandise will include the best in local handmade, repurposed, and antique items as well as an assortment of artisan foods from high quality vendors for an experience unlike others in the city.
