Prestige Health Choice Awarded NCQA Interim Health Plan Accreditation
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., July 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Prestige Health Choice, a Medicaid managed care plan serving 55 of Florida's 67 counties and a joint venture between AmeriHealth Caritas and Florida Blue, announced that it has been awarded an interim health plan accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
Health plans with an interim accreditation have been determined by NCQA to have basic structure and processes in place to meet expectations for consumer protection and quality improvement. Organizations awarded this status undergo a full survey within the following 18 months to demonstrate they have executed those processes effectively, at which point they will be eligible to receive full accreditation.

NCQA Health Plan Accreditation is a nationally recognized evaluation that purchasers, regulators and consumers can use to assess health plans. A team of physicians and health plan experts conducts accreditation surveys. A national oversight committee of physicians analyzes the team's findings and assigns an accreditation level based on the performance level of each plan being evaluated to NCQA's standards.
