On May 1, 2014, Honeywell Process Solutions (HPS), a part of the Honeywell International Inc.'s (Honeywell's) Performance Materials and Technologies strategic business group, announced that its automation and safety technology has been selected for the third phase of a pipeline project supplying natural gas from Central Asia to China. According to HPS, Asia Trans Gas selected its Experion® Process Knowledge System (PKS) and Safety Manager technology to manage operations and to prevent safety issues in a third pipeline to be built as a part of the Central Asia-China Gas Pipeline (CACGP) project. HPS informed that Asia Trans Gas is a collaboration of China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) and UzbekNefteGas, Uzbekistan national holding company. Aldous Wong, Regional GM, Honeywell Process Solutions, Greater China, said, "The Honeywell system will increase operators' access to information and help them make faster, better-informed decisions to promote the integrity and safety of the pipeline." Avago Technologies Limited Analyst Notes
On May 6, 2014, Avago Technologies Limited (Avago) announced the completion of the acquisition of LSI Corporation for $11.15 per share in an all-cash transaction valued at around $6.6 billion. According to Avago, this acquisition creates a diversified semiconductor market leader with nearly $5 billion in projected annual revenues. Avago further stated that the acquisition will establish it as a leader in the enterprise storage market and will also expand Avago's product offerings and is expected to introduce system-level expertise in its wired infrastructure market. In addition to the benefits of the acquisition, the Company continues to anticipate achieving annual cost savings at a run rate of $200 million by the end of the fiscal year ending November 1, 2015. Following the announcement, the stock gained 4.81% to close at $67.34. Avago plans to release its Q2 FY 2014 financial results on May 29, 2014.
