Prices Drop for LED Tennis Court Lighting Systems

WORCESTER, Mass., Jan. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- LED technology is constantly improving in energy efficiency, lumen output and module life while the cost is falling. Progress is enabling tennis court lighting systems to improve while prices fall. Access Fixtures, a leader in commercial and sports lighting, has lowered the price on its newest LED tennis court lighting package. The LED tennis court lighting system achieves even recreational play lighting levels over the entire court area and is priced under $20,000.

"LED tennis courts are becoming the preferred solution in areas with high energy costs, like Hawaii where electricity costs between $0.30 and $0.50/kWh, or on Caribbean islands where power supplies are both limited and expensive," said Access Fixtures CEO, Steven Rothschild. He continued, "Beyond extreme energy efficiency, LED luminaires reduce light trespass and virtually eliminate maintenance."

Access Fixtures' newest LED tennis court lights produce an average of 21.6 foot-candles over the entire court area and a max-min ratio of an extremely low 1.79, providing superior, high CRI, white light for recreational or club level tennis matches. Each LED luminaire employed produces 15,000 lumens using only 164 watts, for an incredible 91 lumens per watt. These values are minimum average maintained footcandles. The LED luminaires are rated for 100,000 hours, 25 degrees C ambient L85, based on projected value per IESNA TM21-11, and are IP66, Design Lighting Consortium (DLC) approved, and are warrantied for 5 years.
