'Prime Scholars' Program Offers Career Entry & Advancement for Next Generation of Automotive Professionals
GPB Capital-Affiliated Prime Automotive Group Teams with Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology to Provide Fast Track to Students
NEW YORK, Jan. 29, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- GPB Capital Holdings, LLC (GPB Capital) affiliate Prime Motor Group (Prime) has partnered with the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology (BFIT) to establish the Prime Scholars program, which helps the school's students begin and advance careers as automotive technicians.
In addition to offering scholarships, the Prime Scholars program gives BFIT students the opportunity to apprentice at any of the 32 dealerships across New England managed by Prime. Participants rotate positions at dealerships to obtain a broad spectrum of valuable on-the-job skills which complement their studies.

During the on-the-job training rotations, executives with Westwood, Massachusetts-based Prime can assess the strengths and skills of the participating Prime Scholars, and recruit them for employment after they graduate. Prime Scholars also allows BFIT students to receive training with individual automakers so they can receive the certifications required by auto brands.

Boston-based BFIT is a private, non-profit college which seeks to provide students, including those from traditionally underrepresented groups, with the technical education they need to obtain careers in high-demand fields.
