Prince Alwaleed meets with Prime Minister Samaras of Greece in Athens
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, May 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) met with HE Prime Minister Samaras of Greece and the representatives of the Greek government in Athens on Monday 5th May 2014 during His Royal Highness's visit to Greece.
During the meeting Prince Alwaleed and Mr. Samaras discussed the warm friendship between Saudi Arabia and Greece and referred to a number of economic and social issues. The meeting also touched upon the latest economic developments. Prince Alwaleed congratulated Greece and its government for the current status of its economy which is expected to witness positive growth in 2014. HRH also said that there were clear signs that the recession will subside to make room for economic growth.
Moreover, Prince Alwaleed and Mr. Samaras discussed investments in Greece. The Greek Prime Minister said his country welcomes the Prince to further invest in Greece, especially in the hospitality sector. Furthermore, Mr. Samaras commended the Prince on his efforts on the business front, describing His Highness as one of the largest and most influential global investors, and commended him on his global philanthropic support.
The representatives of the Greek government included HE Mr. Costis Hadjidakis Minister of Development, HE Ms. Olga Kefalogianni, Greek Minister of Tourism HE Mr. Notis Mytarakis, Vice Minister of Development, HE Dr. Raed bin Khalid Qurimli, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Greece, Mr. Ioannis Emiris, C.E.O of the Fund for the privatisation of the Public Property, Mr. Stavros Papastavrou Director of the P.M.'s office for E.U. and International Relations, Mr. Dimitrios Ptohos, Director of the P.M.'s office for Strategic Planning, Mr. Stavros Vassilopoulos, Diplomatic Cabinet Director Ambassador.

In August 2013, Prince Alwaleed visited Athens, Greece and met with Prime Minister Samaras of Greece in Athens during HRH's visit to Greece. Also, Prince Alwaleed met the Greek Minister of National Defense at the Ministry of National Defense. During the meeting Prince Alwaleed and Mr. Avramopoulos discussed various general issues.
