Prism to Consolidate Operations into Three Campuses

CHERRY HILL, N.J., Feb. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Prism Education Group, which operates schools in the greater Philadelphia area, announced the pending closure of its Upper Darby, Pa. campus in 2016.  Prism Career Institute in Upper Darby will close as of July 31, 2016.  Students enrolled at Prism Career Institute in Upper Darby will be offered the opportunity to complete their programs on campus.  

"We wanted to ensure that we are not leaving any students without a path to completion and fulfilling our obligation of providing the service," said Arlin Schmidt, CEO of Prism Education Group. "This has been a difficult decision for the Company but a move that needs to be made now as our lease will be expiring in 2016."

Throughout its history, Prism Career Institute has largely focused on medical-related programs as offered at the three remaining locations, which are not impacted by this closure.  Campuses in Philadelphia, Cherry Hill, N.J. and Egg Harbor, N.J. have experienced growth over the past several years and will continue to offer programs in Practical Nursing, Nurse Aide (CNA) and Medical Assistant.

"We have decided to make this move in order to focus on the core strength of the organization which is the Practical Nursing program offered at our other three campuses," Schmidt added. "In making this move, we will be able to dedicate all of our resources and services to continued successful outcomes of this program."
