Private Media Group Enters Into Exclusive Multi-Year Online VOD Content License Agreement With Voddler
BARCELONA, Spain, Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Private Media Group, Inc. (Nasdaq GM: PRVT) a worldwide leader in premium quality adult entertainment content, today announced the signing of a multi-year agreement for the exclusive supply of adult content to Voddler Group AB, Scandinavia's premier web based video-on-demand (VOD) service provider. Leveraging Voddler's leading distribution platform for VOD, with both free ad-based and pay-per-view solutions, Private will have 100% coverage throughout the Scandinavia online VOD market, with terms that will significantly improve revenue generation through increased exposure and premier positioning.
The deal includes access for Voddler to both new releases and Private's movie library, which features hundreds of classic blockbuster titles. Private is the exclusive provider of adult content to Voddler.
Simultaneously with the Private agreement, Voddler launches an extended content filter function to help its customers manage content consumption. The filter function helps both individuals, who wish to limit their exposure to specific titles, and families, who wish to share a login between family members of varying ages.
Voddler offers premium films and series, both pay-per-view and free advertising-funded, on Internet-connected devices where and when the viewer wants. Voddler has over 750,000 registered users. It currently operates in Scandinavia, with open access in Sweden and Norway, and on invite only-basis in Finland and Denmark. So far in 2010, "voddlerites" have watched over four million titles after downloading the Voddler player. As of September 2010, Voddler has a growing catalog of 2,500 titles, featuring content from all global media majors.
Berth Milton, Chief Executive Officer of Private commented: "Combining Voddler's innovative platform and expansive and rapidly growing distribution network with Private's strong brand and high-quality content, we expect this new online offer in Scandinavia to become a winner. The Voddler service represents the future of television and we believe this agreement will generate substantial profit going forward."
