Programs Boost Assistance for Park Water Company Customers
DOWNEY, Calif., June 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- More customers may be eligible to receive a $5.50 monthly bill discount from Park Water Company (Park) through the California Alternate Rates for Water (CARW) program due to new changes to program income guideline changes.
Park's CARW program provides qualified applicants with an $11.00 discount on the bi-monthly water bill. According to the company, over 2,200 customers have enrolled in the CARW program since January.
"Our programs provide additional assistance to those who need it," said General Manager Jeanne-Marie Bruno. "And, we are committed getting the word out to make sure those who need it are aware of what is available when they need a helping hand."
Starting June 1, 2012, the CARW income guidelines, based on pre-tax annual income, are as follows:

Customers may also be eligible if they or a household member participate in other public assistance programs and benefits, such as Medical/ Medicaid, Healthy Families A & B, Women, Infants and Children (WIC), National School Lunch Program, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), the program CalFresh/ SNAP (formerly Food Stamps), The Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance, Head Start Income Eligible (Tribal Only), CalWORKs (TANF), Tribal TANF or LIHEAP programs.
Park offers a range of options for a range of customers. Those customers who do not meet CARW guidelines may qualify for other programs, such as Park's Water Conservation Program, which provides a no-cost, water-saving advice, kits, and rebates to renters, homeowners, landlords, and businesses.
The conservation program provides no-cost conservation kits that save water and energy. The program also offers customers no-cost, water audits to help conserve water inside and out during all seasons including warmer weather. The conservation program partners with other local agencies to distribute no-cost low-flow toilets and other programs, such as clothes washer rebates.
