Project Lifesaver International Announces the Release of the PLI 3000, the Newest and Most Effective Tool in the Search and Rescue Toolkit for "At-Risk" Individuals with Cognitive Disorders

The PLI 3000 is our newest and most effective tool for search and rescue of individuals with Alzheimer's disease, Autism, and Down syndrome who are at constant risk to the life threatening behavior of wandering.  

The PLI 3000 is the latest generation of radio frequency tracking receivers. The PLI 3000 is compatible with all existing Project Lifesaver search and rescue equipment and transmitters currently deployed in the field.

The PLI 3000 operates off of a 9-volt battery and has the capability to work in the 215-218MHz bands.  The range of the PLI 3000 is approximately one mile in on-the-ground searches and 5-7 miles in searches by helicopter. The Project Lifesaver transmitting wrist or ankle bracelet emits a Radio Frequency signal every second, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for a full 30 days, which means caregivers only need to change batteries once a month.

The PLI 3000 can be used interchangeably with either an Omni or a Yagi antenna depending on the situation. A Yagi antenna is a unidirectional antenna and an Omni antenna is an antenna which radiates power uniformly in all directions. The Yagi antenna configuration uniquely combines with the PLI 3000 receiver to create a compact single unit allowing the operator to free up one hand while searching
