Prospect Mortgage Supports #FlyYourFlag Campaign to Show Loyalty to Troops on Flag Day
SHERMAN OAKS, Calif., June 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Prospect Mortgage, LLC, one of the nation's largest independent mortgage lenders, is a national partner of Homes for Our Troops (HFOT), and announced it will be participating in HFOT's social media campaign happening on Flag Day, June 14. The inaugural #FlyYourFlag social media campaign is being launched by HFOT, a nonprofit organization that builds mortgage-free, specially adapted homes for Veterans who were severely injured post September 11, 2001.
Prospect is a committed national partner to Homes for Our Troops and makes a monetary donation to HFOT for every VA loan funded.
Participants in the #FlyYourFlag campaign will post 'selfies' and other photos that display their patriotism and the American Flag. For anyone wishing to participate, posts should include the hashtags #FlyYourFlag and #HFOT to raise awareness and donations to further the mission of HFOT. The campaign will be promoted across all of HFOT's social channels, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The VA estimates that nearly 2,000 service members have returned from Afghanistan and Iraq with injuries so severe that they require a specially adapted home. HFOT's average cost to construct each specially adapted home nationwide runs $430,000.

This year alone, Prospect Mortgage has donated approximately $85,000 to the organization. Along with the ongoing monetary donation, Prospect regularly attends events or volunteers for Homes for Our Troops. Employees have attended groundbreaking ceremonies of homes being built for Veterans, participated in volunteer days to help landscape homes and key ceremonies to see the keys of a new home being handed to a Veteran.

Homes for Our Troops (HFOT) is a privately funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that builds specially adapted, mortgage-free homes nationwide for the most severely injured Veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan.
