MIAMI, Nov. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Three local Hispanic small business owners were recognized at the 2017 Prospera Success Stories Luncheon in South Florida. They were selected among entrepreneurs who have received Prospera services, based on business growth, economic impact, and innovation within their industries. Additionally, the event brought together Prospera clients and volunteers with government, business and community leaders while raising funds that help sustain year-round programs. This year's event was the first since the economic development organization's rebranding.

The following were honored:
- Tailleen Arias, owner of The Doral Conservatory and School of the Arts
Since 2000, the preschool has used music and art to teach children 18 months and older. Afternoons lessons for children and adults include performing arts, visual arts, music, gymnastics, and etiquette. In August 2017 they opened Loyola Elementary. The staff now consists of 45 people, including renowned musicians.
- Sandro Taveras and Ruth Ramos, owners of Taveras Appliance Service
This family-operated business strives to change the appliance repair industry and its reputation with customer service. Sandro's expertise in appliance repair and Ruth's customer service experience make them a powerful team. They have grown the team to 12 employees by maintaining a focus on their clients' needs.
- Dr. Maritza Fuentes, owner of Integrative Health Care Institute
Seeking a change in the medical field, Dr. Fuentes established an institute that combines natural and conventional medicine in a holistic approach to treat and heal the mind, body and spirit. Now an 18-staff operation, the practice offers family and internal medicine, endocrinology, acupuncture, homeopathy, life coaching, psychology, hypnotherapy, intravenous therapy, and more.
