ATLANTA, June 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The June monthly luncheon of the Georgia Chapter-Public Relations Society of America ( will be a conversation with Shan Cooper, Lockheed Martin vice president and Marietta (GA) site general manager, and Johnny Whitaker APR, Lockheed Martin's director of communications in Marietta, as they discuss communications and the role it plays in influencing key business decisions, driving employee engagement, supporting members of the U.S. and international armed services, and identifying new growth opportunities for the world's largest defense contractor.


Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is home to some of the most recognizable military aircraft in the world, many of which are (or were) built at the company's Marietta site, from proven cargo planes to stealth jets.  With multiple domestic and international customers, thousands of employees, hundreds of community partnerships and four operational aircraft lines, there's rarely a moment where communications doesn't play a key role at Lockheed Martin's Marietta site.

Prior to the luncheon, there will be a morning seminar on Pinterest.
