Purdue University Makes Live Performances More Accessible for Hearing Impaired Audiences with Gamiotics

Purdue University Theatre Department has engaged Gamiotics to implement a cutting-edge new technology at shows on campus, allowing deaf and hearing-impaired audiences to enjoy live performances using closed captioning in the palm of their hands.

In live performance, hearing-impaired patrons are often faced with the problem of having to split visual focus, whether it be through a sign interpreter or caption display, with the action taking place on stage. With this, they can move the screen to a position that allows them to easily see both the captions and the action without having to look back and forth.
