SAN JOSE, Calif., April 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- PwC US today announced that its Silicon Valley practice will donate a total of $85,000 to four Silicon Valley-based non-profit organizations, funded through grants from the PwC Charitable Foundation, Inc. Members of PwC's Silicon Valley practice are also showing their support for these organizations by volunteering their time for these organizations. PwC's Silicon Valley employees have donated over 5,300 hours of volunteer time to local charitable organizations this fiscal year.
The following local organizations will receive the donations below:
- Silicon Valley Education Foundation– A non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing Silicon Valley public education by driving scholastic achievement in math and science through innovative academic programs.
- RAFT: Resource Area For Teaching– A non-profit organization committed to transforming teaching by helping educators revolutionize a child's learning experience through hands-on education.
- The First Tee of Silicon Valley– A non-profit organization aimed at teaching youth the core values of integrity, respect and perseverance through the game of golf.
- Girls Leadership Institute– A non-profit organization targeted at teaching girls the skills to know who they are, what they believe, and how to express it, empowering them to make change in their world.
