BEVERLY, Mass. and FRANKLIN, Tenn., Sept. 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Quanta Dialysis Technologies, a leader in transforming kidney care through its award-winning Quanta™ Dialysis System, and Innovative Renal Care (IRC), a dialysis care provider for patients nationwide, today announced a multi-year strategic agreement to broaden access to the Quanta Dialysis System within select IRC programs.
In early 2025, IRC began a pilot at the MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center in Iowa, to evaluate Quanta's versatility and ease of use across care settings, including ICU, bedside, and dialysis suite. Since February, over 130 treatments have been performed including gentle CRRT[1] treatments for hemodynamically unstable patients.
Following the successful pilot, IRC and Quanta finalized a purchase agreement that covers capital equipment, disposables, and the option to leverage EMR integration for flowsheet automation, therapy monitoring and data insights.
IRC intends to expand its use of the Quanta Dialysis System due to its unique combination of:
- Prescription flexibility providing CRRT, SLED, and IHD all in one machine
- Bedside portability, compact footprint, and user-friendly interface for staff
- Operational improvements and cost-savings driven by reduced maintenance and disinfection requirements
- Service flexibility to train IRC's own technicians or use Quanta's full-service solution to repair or replace machines, when needed.
These distinct benefits provide IRC with a clear competitive advantage in managing patients' continuum of care, minimizing care delays, and reducing the complexity of a dialysis program for hospitals, physicians, floor/ICU nurses, and dialysis staff. Additionally, the Quanta system makes it easier for IRC to operate in environments with reduced infrastructure and/or staffing resources, such as a hospital or home setting.
"Our care teams are excited to have an innovative, new option for dialysis for acute care patients," said Sara Brady, chief nursing officer for IRC. "The ability to make immediate treatment adjustments all on the same platform is a game-changer. We are thankful for the opportunity to partner with MercyOne Waterloo and Quanta to bring this technology to the state of Iowa."
"We are incredibly energized by this opportunity to collaborate with Innovative Renal Care to provide patients access to the best kidney care available," said Alejandro Galindo, Quanta's Chief Executive Officer. "Our journey in the U.S. started in acute care because we wanted to prove Quanta can operate in the most complex and challenging of environments. IRC is paving the way to bring much-needed innovations to the hospital environment, and we are proud of the momentum we built together throughout 2025. This agreement validates that leading dialysis providers recognize the clinical, operational, and economic benefits that Quanta brings."
