Free platforms feature next-generation software, streaming market data, integrated research tools, and an online trading community
TORONTO, June 4, 2012 /CNW/ - Today, Questrade launches IQ Web and IQ Edge, web and desktop trading software compatible with PCs and Macs. The software is available free of charge to all Questrade clients, and includes free live streaming U.S. market data from Nasdaq. The platforms also include free snap quotes for real-time Canadian data from TSX and TSX-Venture.
IQ Mobile, compatible with Apple, Android, and Blackberry, will be available in mid-summer, followed by IQ Essential, a version for tablets, netbooks, and other "small footprint" devices by early autumn.

With IQ Web and IQ Edge, Questrade is redefining the online trading experience for Canadians. The user-friendly design delivers an inter-connected experience in which each "window" or "gadget" can be linked, floated, and pinned. This allows the investor to effortlessly navigate between the main screens, such as research, data and order management, without losing visibility of their preferred settings and tools.
With the linked windows, for example, a symbol in the charting view will instantly appear in the level 1 window, the research views and the order entry.
All IQ trading platforms include free live streaming market data from Nasdaq (with basic bid and ask). Canadian data is instant real-time snap quotes from TSX and TSX-V. Three data packages are available: advanced Canadian and advanced U.S. streaming packages with level 2 data, and a level 1 streaming package with real-time U.S. and Canadian data. All subscription data packages include expanded trading routes, market depth, and ECNs.
Subscribers to the advanced market data packages (U.S. and Canadian) are automatically registered in the Questrade Advantage, an active trader program for everyone. The program features $4.95 flat stock trades, Intraday Trader, a personal algorithmic add-on, and market data rebates.
Embedded in the IQ platforms are several research tools. Market Intellegence, a fundamental research centre, and Bull's Eye, a research tool with investment theory and trading ideas, are available to all clients. Intraday Trader, the technical analysis tool, is available to clients who subscribed to any of the three market data packages.
Questrade is also officially launching The Exchange, an online trading community. The Exchange includes blogs, forums, video tutorials, and a help and how-to reference library, and topics ranging from Questrade- and IQ-specific to general trading talk and discussion, fostering social trader-to-trader conversation.
To celebrate the official launch of the IQ suite of platforms, Questrade is offering new clients up to 100 free trades. The offer is available until August 31st, 2012. New clients who open an account with a minimum of $10,000 will get 100 free trades. New clients who open an account with a minimum of $1,000 will get 10 free trades.
