Qujam Launches Hyper-Grid Geofencing to Address Evolving State Level Data Privacy Legislation
PITTSBURGH, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Qujam announced the release of Hyper-Grid geofencing, a new location-targeting capability that meets privacy standards across all U.S. states and Canada in full compliance with new regulations aimed at restricting the use of geofence advertising in states such as Oregon, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
"Hyper-grid originated from a desire to adhere to newer state laws limiting precision geofencing in a more transparent way than our competitors," said Jeff Swartz, Founder and CEO of Qujam. "Our mission is to make location-based targeting as accessible and easy to use as possible, so as the legal landscape of geofencing changes, we wanted to give people a solution that was easy to use and available anywhere in North America."
While precision geofencing relies on exact polygonal coordinates, in contrast, Hyper-Grid Geofencing maps 0.5-mile by 0.5-mile GPS bounding boxes using two-decimal latitude and longitude lines. Many alternative platforms automatically adjust precision boundaries into undisclosed grids to comply with laws. Hyper-grid geofencing, however, enables users to select exact targeted grid squares directly. This structure gives marketers explicit visibility and control over campaign boundaries in contrast with the industry standard that often results in low clarity into the exact area being targeted.
Along with selecting targets through a Hyper-Grid geofence, this option also opens up the possibility for advertisers to layer demographic filters, such as age, occupation, and political affiliation, onto grid targets. In order to further narrow down an audience while maintaining full legal compliance.
Qujam currently offers inventory access to OTT, video pre-roll, digital audio, and display ad types across thousands of websites, streaming services, and apps. Hyper-Grid campaigns can carry lower base CPM rates than standard precision geofencing. This pricing model allows marketers to generate greater impression volume if they choose to omit demographic targeting.
To support this launch, Qujam also updated its dashboard and campaign setup user interfaces as part of a long-term roadmap to launch a more intricate "Pro" version. That will include new features such as white-labeling solutions, API data integration and enhanced reporting.
