Race Communications to acquire Atherton Fiber

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Aug. 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Race Communications ("Race"), a leading Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) provider in California, announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Atherton Fiber, the leading FTTH home provider in Atherton, CA and surrounding areas. Atherton Fiber is known for its top-tier network speeds and concierge-style service, making the company a perfect fit to join Race's expanding fiber footprint. The acquisition is currently pending regulatory approval from the California Public Utilities Commission.

The acquisition is backed by Race's investment partner, Oak Hill Capital, a leading private equity firm with a longstanding presence in California and a local office in Menlo Park. Their continued support enables Race to expand its mission of delivering world-class fiber internet while staying rooted in the communities it serves.

Currently Atherton Fiber offers service to more than 5,000 homes and has over 1,000 subscribers in San Mateo County, California.
