Rae Sremmurd's New Album, SremmLife 2, Is Out Today On Ear Drummer Records / Interscope Records
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Aug. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- SremmLife 2 — the eagerly awaited second album from Mississippi hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd — is out today on Ear Drummer Records / Interscope Records.
Early reviews have praised SremmLife 2's darker tone with The New York Times noting that "the quieter innovation on this album is how, thanks to the more-meditative production, SremmLife 2 is at times a commentary on and an updating of decades of Southern club rap." To support SremmLife 2, Rae Sremmurd will hit the road for their first-ever headlining tour, which kicks off on October 1st in New Orleans and crisscrosses North America before concluding in Vancouver on November 7th. Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty will join the tour as direct support. In addition to the 2016 XXL Freshmen class member, the tour will also feature opening sets from Eearz and SremmLife Crew artists BoBo Swae and Impxct. SremmLife 2 is the follow-up to brothers Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi's platinum-selling album SremmLife, which debuted atop Billboard's R&B/Hip Hop Albums and Rap albums chart, while cracking the Top 5 on the Top 200 Albums chart its first week. SremmLife scored the duo five platinum-selling singles, including the Mike WiLL Made-It-produced "No Flex Zone," and "No Type," which is co-produced by Swae Lee. The album was executive produced by Mike WiLL Made-It (Rihanna, Beyoncé, 2 Chainz,) who is also a producer on SremmLife 2.
