Ransomware defense company Mimic announced that it raised a $50M Series A led by Google Ventures & Menlo Ventures; Former Mandiant CEO Kevin Mandia joined its board and Greg Davison joined as Head of Revenue

The company announces a major retail customer & key new product features

PALO ALTO, Calif., Feb. 27, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Mimic, the enterprise ransomware defense company, announced today that it has secured Series A funding of $50 million led by GV (Google Ventures) and Menlo Ventures, with participation from existing investors Ballistic Ventures, Team8, Wing Ventures, and Shield Capital.

Kevin Mandia Joins Mimic's Board

Mimic also announced that Kevin Mandia has joined its Board of Directors. Mandia, the founder of Mandiant, led the company as CEO until 2024. Acquired by Google in 2022, Mandiant's customers include over 200 Fortune 500 companies and major government organizations worldwide. Mandia is a Co-founder and General Partner at Ballistic Ventures and previously served on the CISA Cybersecurity Advisory Committee.

With over 30 years in technology and nearly a decade with Mandiant/Google, he will play a key role in expanding Mimic's reach and helping organizations defend against the growing threat of ransomware.
