Rave Reviews' selection process for this list of the 50 Most Fun Colleges in America was based on data from Niche, University Primetime, Lendedu, College Ranks, and Best College Reviews.  The ranking used four factors: Party, Outdoor, Town, and Recreation. Each rating was calculated on a 5-point Likert scale with a total Rave Meter assigned on a cumulative 20-point scale and a strong party factor measurement and lots of attention to the surroundings.

The ranking for the 50 Most Fun Colleges in America lists University of Colorado-Boulder in Boulder first, University of Texas in Austin second, and University of Iowa in Iowa City in third.
