RaySafe Highlights Real-Time Radiation Dose Monitoring System at CIRSE 2015
RaySafe i2 Dosimeter to be demonstrated at the CIRSE Radiation Protection Pavilion
EVERETT, Wash., Sept. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Unfors RaySafe Inc., a Fluke Biomedical company and the leading manufacturer of real-time dose monitoring solutions for high-dose labs, will educate interventional radiologists about measuring and reducing their own radiation dose at the 30th annual Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE) September 26-30 in Libson, Portugal.
CIRSE attendees will learn the significant benefits the RaySafe i2 can offer interventional radiologists, electrophysiologists, interventional cardiologists and other clinical staff for reducing radiation dose, Excess radiation has been connected with the development of harmful medical conditions such as cataracts and even brain tumors. The RaySafe i2 active dosimetry system gives real-time insight about personal radiation exposure, allowing medical staff to change their behavior in order to minimize their exposure.

RaySafe Dose Hero
New this year, all CIRSE attendees will have the opportunity to play the RaySafe Dose Hero. RaySafe has created a quick, interactive game controlled by Xbox-Kinect to test the ability of CIRSE attendees to virtually help a surgeon while avoiding exposure to excessive radiation. In the first round, the player will have to collect tools and hand them to the surgeon during a procedure, thereby moving around the room and encountering radiation at various points. During the second round, the player receives his/her real-time dose feedback from the RaySafe i2, educating them on how much exposure he/she received during the single procedure.
