Rdio Unveils Its Top Charts For 2014 Reflecting Worldwide Tastes

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Rdio (www.rdio.com), a leading global music streaming service available in 60 countries, releases its year-end charts for 2014, with Iggy Azalea's The New Classic coming in at #1 on the album chart, Beyoncé's, "Drunk in Love" ranking at #1 with the most-streamed song and Ariana Grande grabbing #1 artist of 2014 on Rdio. Music fans can now search Rdio's charts spanning 30 countries on www.rdio.com/2014. And through Your 2014 on Rdio, listeners can find out the songs and artists they loved the most in 2014.

2014 was a major year for music, and Rdio captured the pulse of what listeners were enjoying the most with charts ranking top album and track streams in the U.S. and globally. Rdio also returned with its highly popular Rdio Covers series, featuring exclusively commissioned recordings from artists destined to break out in 2015 providing a fresh take on some of 2014's biggest hits. One of these artists, singer/songwriter Bea Miller, receives the honor of Rdio's Artist to Watch for January 2015, the latest in a handpicked series of artists Rdio supports in their rise to the top.

Focused on keeping listeners out ahead of the curve, Rdio also takes a look back at the artists previously featured in the staff-selected Rdio Recommends monthly series — and shows how those early picks ultimately fared in the charts this past year.

The top charts, including breakdown by countries and genres, along with Rdio Covers 2014 and the "Best of 2014: Rdio Recommends" playlist are available at www.rdio.com/2014.  The site also features Rdio staff picks of personal favorites from throughout the past year.
