Re-Connect: Black Youth Speak Out, Churches Reach Out

ATLANTA, Jan. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The conference will reveal why Black youth are disconnected from the church and successful ways to reconnect with them. The conference presents information obtained directly from young people ages 13 to 18 years old, including 17 and 18 year old college students from across the United States, and from church leaders who are successfully reaching unchurched youth. The conference will also invite middle schoolers, high school youth, and college students in the 13-18 age range to attend on Saturday to explore and present onsite their role in re-connection activities.  Participants will:

RECEIVE a challenge to act from               

• Heart-tugging views of today's youth about their need for the church
• Hard-hitting advice from youth to churches

RENEW a vision for action

• Concrete, workable, successful ways of reaching young people from churches that are doing it.
• Written materials and tools to take home

RESPOND through

• Self-reflection on youth ministry in their context
• Decision-making about what is needed and possible where they are

Who Should Attend  
Church pastors, youth ministry leaders, Sunday school teachers, college and university chaplains, mentors, parents, community supporters, other interested adults, and young people ages 13 to 18.   

Cost: Adults $50 that includes dinner on Friday, lunch on Saturday, and packet of materials.
Youth: $10 for Saturday attendance that includes lunch
