Ready Steady Sell: Latest Trends in UK House Sale Hotspots Revealed

The UK's housing market is changing fast; and selling a house quickly is easier in some parts of the country than others. Ready Steady Sell, one of the UK's biggest house buying companies advertising online has revealed the top cities where homeowners have expressed an interest in selling their property fast for a quick cash sale.

Ready Steady Sell, one of the UK's biggest online advertisers for homeowners looking to sell their house fast online received over 9500 homeowner enquiries between 1st April 2017 and 31st August 2017; and today have revealed the results of some in-house analysis on the most common areas where those enquiries have come from.

Of the 9500 enquiries Ready Steady Sell received the most enquiries came from postcodes based in London, Manchester and Tyne and Wear.

However, narrowing down specific towns and taking into account population, Bradford, Cardiff and Middlesbrough came out on top.

When looking at the counties the most number of enquiries came from residents of the postcodes in Tyne and Wear, West Yorkshire and London.

Managing Director of Ready Steady Sell, David Sessford, had this to say: "Most estate agents and members of the general public assume that anyone using a quick cash buying company to sell their property is doing so due to being in some sort of financial difficulty - however this isn't always the case.

"We have recently noticed a huge increase of enquiries from homeowners who are simply stuck in chains, unable to sell through the traditional route of an estate agent.

"These people want to move, may have found their next dream house but are unable to on the open market for whatever reason."

Mr Sessford who's company claims to be able to buy any house fast continued: "We are unsure why these types of enquiries in these areas are starting to consider a cash buying route to selling their properties.

"We can only assume that it is a reflection on the current property market in these areas being stagnant, and estate agents are struggling to deal with it - or maybe it is a reflection of the busy lifestyles people lead whereby they are unable to wait up to 6 months for an estate agent to sell their home."

Selling your house for cash to a company like Ready Steady Sell usually takes 10 - 14 days to complete being they are cash buying and therefore do not need to wait for third parties or a mortgage application.

However, selling for cash generally also means selling below market value which Mr Sessford believes is not always a bad thing.

The research provided by Ready Steady Sell comes after Rightmove recently showed a downward trend in asking prices across the UK with some areas bucking the trend.

The property website said a 2.9% or £18,358 price slump in London had played a part in the drop.

The average price of a home in London now stands at £610,912, down from £629,270 in August.
