NEW YORK, Jan. 29, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Technology and healthcare providers are leveraging data to encourage more value-based care. Technology giant Apple recently announced that it's starting a trial enabling US customers to automatically download and view their medical records using their iPhones through the company's Health app.[1]
The rise of the wearable and home-based medical devices -- which capture real-time patient and medical data -- has ballooned within hospitals, clinics, and pharmaceutical and tech companies. They are investing heavily in these technologies as the shift to value-based care becomes a major priority.
The healthcare analytics market in particular is expected to reach USD 29.84 billion by 2022 from USD 8.92 billion in 2017, at a CAGR of 27.3%.[2] Its growth is a result of increasing cost pressures, the need for better patient care and rapid technology advancements.[3]
