Record $4.95 million raised for heart health in Alberta as Miyu Yamashita wins CPKC Women's Open

EDMONTON, AB, Aug. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2026 CPKC Women's Open raised a record $4.95 million to support heart healthcare in Alberta, while on the golf course, Miyu Yamashita concluded a historic performance on Sunday to capture the 2026 CPKC Women's Open and her fourth LPGA Tour victory.

Enthusiastic, record crowds filled the grounds at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club to watch Yamashita finish the week 23 under par, winning by nine strokes over the second place finisher. 

Earlier Sunday, CPKC representatives gathered with local officials and guests to present a cheque for $4.4 million to the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation as part of the tournament's legacy helping to strengthen access to specialized pediatric care for children across the province. CPKC also helped raise $550,000 for this year's tournament community partner Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation benefiting the CK Hui Heart Centre.

The total raised for the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation, the largest in the tournament's history, will help support leading-edge equipment, research, training and programs for cardiac teams caring for some of the most complex pediatric heart patients in Canada.
