MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- This year, the American Cancer Society estimates over 230,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women.

On Saturday, October 1, 2011, over 7,400 Regis Corporation (NYSE:RGS) corporate salons across the country will host a one-day haircutting event in support of breast cancer research. You can help raise $1 million in the fight against breast cancer by getting a haircut on that day; 10% of proceeds from each haircut will go to the Regis Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.

The Saturday haircutting event also kicks off Regis Corporation's annual, month-long Clip for the Cure campaign. Throughout October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, participating salons are offering additional fundraising opportunities. For example, 10% of net proceeds from the sale of private label products, including customer favorites like DESIGNLINE®, Cost Cutters Professional, and MasterCuts' M|C line, will be donated directly to the Foundation. Customer and business donations will also be accepted and limited edition pink products, including $1 breast cancer awareness pins, will be available for purchase.
