Registration Opens for SEI Architecture Technology User Network (SATURN) 2010 Conference

PITTSBURGH, Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute (SEI) has announced the opening of registration and the availability of the preliminary program for the sixth annual SEI Architecture Technology User Network (SATURN) Conference. The SEI will present SATURN 2010 in collaboration with IEEE Software magazine in Minneapolis, Minn., from May 17 to 21. The SATURN Conference is the annual event where architecture practitioners and researchers meet to share ideas, network, and learn about new and current architecture technologies and practices.

The theme of SATURN 2010, "Architecting for Change," emphasizes the need for organizations to meet their business and mission goals in rapidly and continuously changing environments. In line with this theme, the conference will include keynote addresses from internationally celebrated experts, including acclaimed author and leader of the Agile movement Jim Highsmith. Highsmith will discuss how architects can help accelerate agility in their organizations in his keynote address titled Architects: Anchors or Accelerators for Organizational Agility. SATURN 2010 will also include experience reports and discussions of architecture methods, techniques, and practices that enable organizations to adapt to persistent change.

Conference Chair Ipek Ozkaya notes that in addition to tutorials, popular SEI courses, and presentations by world-class architects, attendees at SATURN 2010 will also enjoy programming that is new to the conference. "We've seen a growing emphasis on new approaches, technologies, and concerns in the past few years, so we've tailored the program to feature new content that meets attendees' interests," says Ozkaya.

New elements to the program include a one-day software architecture course for executives and acquisition professionals, special events in agile software development and software architecture, and presentations and talks by IEEE Software board members Linda Rising and Philippe Kruchten.
