Regrid and Overture Maps Foundation Connect Parcels and POIs with GERS ID Integration

DETROIT, July 15, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Regrid, a leading provider of nationwide parcel data and location intelligence solutions, is proud to announce a new functionality that connects its persistent parcel identifier, the Regrid ID, with the GERS ID from the Overture Maps Foundation's Places dataset. This linkage creates a powerful bridge between parcels and real-world points of interest (POIs), empowering Regrid users to derive deeper insights from both proprietary and open datasets.

This integration is built on a shared commitment between Regrid and Overture Maps Foundation (Overture) to foster data interoperability across systems. The Global Entity Reference System (GERS), developed by Overture, provides a universal framework for identifying physical and conceptual entities—such as office buildings, airports, and landmarks—with a persistent and unique GERS ID. Regrid has established a join between these GERS IDs and its nationwide parcel data via the Regrid ID (ll_uuid), available to customers through an auxiliary bridge file.

The Places dataset within Overtures includes more than 61 million point features representing real-world entities like hospitals, schools, restaurants, and more, compiled from contributors including Meta, Microsoft, and PinMeTo. By combining Regrid premium parcel data, this new process bolsters fundamental information already offered via land use and zoning fields and ensures greater insights into property landscape.
