RelayRides Attracts Seasoned Executives to its Leadership Team
Scott Kinzie Joins as Vice President of Marketing, Tom Wang Named Vice President of Product Amid Accelerated Growth and Continued Expansion
SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- RelayRides, the nation's first and largest peer-to-peer car sharing marketplace, announced today that Scott Kinzie and Tom Wang have joined the company as Vice President of Marketing and Vice President of Product, respectively. Following a banner year for RelayRides, in which the San Francisco-based startup further reinforced its category leadership with a nationwide launch through its exclusive partnership with General Motors, Kinzie and Wang join to facilitate the brand's expansion and growth in 2013.
In his role, Kinzie will be responsible for building RelayRides' overall brand awareness through innovative and scalable marketing campaigns, customer engagement and conversion strategies. As consumers increasingly tap into the collaborative consumption model to gain access to mobility while avoiding high costs of ownership, Kinzie and his team will look to further communicate the accessibility, environmental and financial benefits of peer-to-peer car sharing to a mass audience.
Wang will be responsible for the end-to-end consumer experience and providing world-class community tools to facilitate car sharing within the growing RelayRides marketplace. With growing awareness of RelayRides' unique value and selection, Wang and his team will focus on new innovations in car discoverability, reputation systems and expansion into new platforms.
"Hiring experienced, proven talent to fill senior leadership roles is critical to the success of our business," said Andre Haddad, Chief Executive Officer at RelayRides. "Their collective experience and entrepreneurial spirit will strengthen our ability to execute our mission."
RelayRides will tap into Mr. Kinzie's talent as a forward-thinking brand strategist, most recently overseeing global marketing as the Chief Marketing Officer of Babycenter.com. Prior to his time at Babycenter.com, Mr. Kinzie served as SVP, Marketing at Public Engines and Executive Creative Director Ancestry.com.
Wang's extensive background in creating world-class Internet and mobile products includes product leadership roles at major public companies, such as America Online and Nokia, and groundbreaking Silicon Valley start-ups such as Formspring, Spinner and Organic.
Both executives will report directly to Andre Haddad, RelayRides' Chief Executive Officer.
