Renesas Mobile Corporation Selects Ecrio VoLTE Client Software

CUPERTINO, Calif., July 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Ecrio Inc. today announced the signing of a commercial agreement with Renesas Mobile to license Ecrio's VoLTE Client Software. The client software will be embedded in Renesas Mobile's advanced LTE triple mode platforms enabling VoLTE Services based on the 3GPP IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) to be supported across Renesas Mobile platforms bringing operators a robust and proven voice solution for devices on LTE networks.  

Based on the FlexIMS™ Architecture, Ecrio's Mobile Communication Client Suite (MCCS) has achieved successful certifications on multiple operator networks, and continues to be embedded in a range of upcoming mobile devices within the emerging 4G/LTE ecosystem. This unique architecture enables VoLTE, Video Calling and companion Rich Communication Suite (RCS) to be implemented with the flexibility to distribute functionalities across the LTE Baseband Processor and the Application Processor to meet low power consumption and latency requirements.

The Ecrio solution will be optimised and embedded in Renesas Mobile's highly-integrated LTE triple mode modem and smartphone platforms. These platforms are designed to meet the rapidly-growing demands for enhanced applications that take advantage of the power of 4G LTE Mobile Broadband networks. Renesas Mobile recently pioneered the MP5232, high-performance, scalable LTE triple mode smartphone platform, optimised to address the US$150-300 range device market. The MP5232 is designed to enable OEMs to accelerate the creation and delivery of high volume LTE/HSPA+ capable smartphones, tablets and mobile Internet devices the industry requires to deliver the full potential of LTE.
