Rentrak Announces Worldwide Box Office Results For Weekend Of December 30, 2012

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Rentrak Corporation (Nasdaq: RENT), the global leader in box office measurement, today announced the worldwide weekend box office estimates for the weekend of December 30, 2012 as compiled by the company's Box Office Essentials™ and International Box Office Essentials theatrical measurement services.

Rentrak's President of Theatrical Worldwide, Ron Giambra commented, "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is the No. 1 film in the world for the third consecutive weekend with an estimated weekend gross of $139 million from 63 markets. The film only dropped 12% from last weekend. The current worldwide total now stands at $687 million. Also, Skyfall is now over $1 billion worldwide after this weekend."
