Fox's "The Martian" continues to deliver phenomenal results with a worldwide weekend of $58 million and a total to-date around the Earth of over $320 million. Notably, Disney's "Ant-Man" opened in China with a $43.2 million three-day weekend and posted the second-largest Disney/Marvel three-day opening weekend of all-time in China behind "Avengers: Age of Ultron."
In North American action, Sony's "Goosebumps," starring the tireless marketing machine that is Jack Black, took the number one spot with $23.6 million. The movie, based on the series of children's horror novels by R.L. Stine, is perfectly timed to take advantage of the upcoming Halloween festivities.
Disney's "Avengers: Age of Ultron" enjoyed total small-screen domination this week, topping our digital purchases and rentals chart, our Movies on Demand chart and also both our DVD and Blu-ray Disc sales and rentals charts.
Warner Bros.' "Magic Mike XXL" also enjoyed a great week on the charts in its small screen debut as it took second place on our DVD and Blu-ray Disc sales rankings as well as a third place on our Movies on Demand chart.
On our digital purchases and rentals chart, Fox's "Spy," starring Melissa McCarthy and Jason Statham, was another big winner, climbing up through the ranks into the number two spot this week.
On our top viewer engagement chart for broadcast telecasts, Fox's acclaimed "Empire" knocked perpetual favorite Telemundo's "El Senor de los Cielos" out of the top spot this week. CBS's long running favorite "NCIS" and the network's "Blue Bloods" took second and third, respectively.
Leading the way on our top viewer engagement chart for cable telecasts this week, the Hallmark movie "Autumn Dreams" was a big hit with audiences, followed by long-standing favorites AMC's "Fear the Walking Dead" and Lifetime's "Project Runway" in the second and third positions.
Finally, on our combined social media and digital engagement chart for viewers of broadcast and cable telecasts, Chris Crump singing "Thinking Out Loud" was the most viewed clip for NBC's "The Voice" and the blind audition on YouTube has generated 1.7M+ views. ESPN's "SportsCenter" uploaded a picture to Instagram of Clay Matthews after sacking Colin Kaepernick. The photo garnered 117k+ interactions. Finally, Game Show Network's "Family Feud" uploaded the clip 'This ain't no STRIP CLUB!!!' to YouTube. The video has 524k+ views.
