With Disney's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" poised later this week for its global debut, Lionsgate's "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2" enjoyed another great performance at the top of the worldwide chart this past weekend with $571 million in box office revenue to-date.
In domestic box office action, Lionsgate's "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2" led the box office derby for the fourth consecutive week with $11.4 million and $244.6 million to-date. In second place, earning $11 million, is the debut of Warner Bros.' Ron Howard-directed epic adventure "In the Heart of The Sea," starring Chris Hemsworth.
It was another great week for Disney on the small screen as Pixar's "Inside Out" took number one in both DVD and Blu-ray Disc sales and also on our digital sales and rentals chart. Meanwhile, Universal's "Jurassic World" ranked number one for DVD and Blu-ray Disc rentals for the second straight week and "Trainwreck," also from Universal, took the top spot in Movies on Demand once again.
CBS's long-running crime drama "NCIS" topped the chart this week with the most engaged viewers in broadcast, while AMC's ever-popular "The Walking Dead" took the top spot on cable. Wrapping up this week's highlights, ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" hosted Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. as they revealed the world premiere trailer of "Captain America: Civil War." The video was uploaded to YouTube and garnered 39.7M+ views.
