Reputation Changer Expands to Online Media, Hiring Top-40 Online Executive as President
Reputation Changer is proud to announce that Michael Zammuto will join the company as its new president and COO and be responsible for leading the company through a new period of accelerated growth.
NEW YORK, Nov. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading Online Reputation Management firm, Reputation Changer, is proud to announce the formal launch of a new online media division. The announcement coincides with the introduction of Michael Zammuto, who will join the firm as its first President and Chief Operating Officer. The company, which has acquired or launched 1,000 online media sites in 2012, says the addition of a seasoned growth executive with top online publishing experience is part of the organization's growth strategy.
"I am thrilled to be joining this pioneering reputation management company. Its explosive growth reflects its success addressing one of the critical challenges facing enterprises online today," Zammuto says. The company's reputation management, content development and online publishing divisions provide a platform for Fortune 500 firms, government and individuals to build their online presence, establish brands and manage and defend their reputations.
Reputation Changer's core online reputation management services have jumped 500 percent this year while expanding into new businesses. Creating this position was a critical element of the firm's growth strategy. "Online publishing faces some significant challenges, but the synergy between its three divisions is why the business is growing so rapidly. My goal is to facilitate an environment where it continues to work together seamlessly while also planning our next stage of growth."
Reputation management is expected to grow into a $5 billion per year industry by the end of 2015 and has begun to attract investor attention which is evidenced by Reputation.com. The organization raised $41 million in 2011 in a round of funding led by venture-capital firm August Capital, with participation from Insight Capital and existing investors including Jafco Ventures, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Bessemer Venture Partners. "Raising growth capital is a big priority for us as we move forward," Zammuto observes. "However, the real story is the continued innovation that goes on behind the scenes at ReputationChanger.com, day in and day out. The company is growing R&D every month, developing new tools, new strategies, and new leadership methods—all in the service of providing clients with exemplary service, and propelling the reputation defense industry ahead."
Zammuto was selected because he has led several media and technology companies through periods of rapid growth. Before joining the Reputation Changer team, Zammuto was the Chief Operating Officer of Cha Cha, the leading real-time answer service and online publishing giant that announced this year it has answered two billion questions; industry ranking service Quantcast notes that Cha Cha grew into a top 50 site this year.
Zammuto has been the executive of several successful startups and earlier served as CTO of Ecometry Corporation, which as part of RedPrairie, announced in early November that it will join with JDA to create a company of over $1 billion in revenue. Zammuto was also the COO of Ontario Systems, an enterprise software and services firm.
"We are a large B2C service provider, but our national accounts practice is our fastest growing area and because the demand is growing across every segment it requires us to invest in new management approaches," says Cliff Stein, company CEO. "Today you are what the search engines say you are. The rapid expansion of information sources, social media and review sites makes actively managing online reputations critical for individuals, Fortune 500 companies and even government officials. Reputation Changer provides invaluable services which can build a brand or defend their online reputation against acts of defamation."
As a result, Zammuto plans to dramatically expand the Reputation Changer team. "In order for us to grow into a worldwide operation we need to compete for top talent against the very best," he says. Zammuto says he plans to add 200 positions in the greater Philadelphia area office next year.
For Zammuto, the opportunity to bring his senior leadership experience to Reputation Changer just seems right. "I have been fortunate enough to be involved with inventive, forward-thinking companies experiencing major growth, and I believe that Reputation Changer more than fits that description," he concludes. "This is a company that has already revolutionized its field, and as online reputation management continues to prosper, the sky is the limit for what we can do at Reputation Changer."
