RES Group announces appointment of Glen Davis as CEO of RES Americas

BROOMFIELD, Colo., Oct. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- RES Group announces the appointment of Glen Davis as Chief Executive Officer of RES Americas.  Mr. Davis has served as RES Americas' Chief Commercial Officer since September 2013 and previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Agile Energy.  Among his priorities as CEO, Mr. Davis will focus on advancing RES Americas' growth as a leading developer, constructor and operator of wind, solar, transmission and energy storage projects.  Mr. Davis has also been named to the executive board of RES Group.

Over the course of his 29 years as an energy executive, Mr. Davis has demonstrated experience in implementing strategies and capturing opportunities, which he will apply to continue to grow RES Americas' market share, further increase the company's revenue and profit, and expand into new markets.

Susan Reilly will continue as President of RES Americas, representing the company on a number of industry boards, including as the Chair of the Board of the American Wind Energy Association, and other important strategic initiatives to reduce carbon emissions and further the deployment of renewable energy in the United States.

Glen Davis Extended Bio

As Chief Commercial Officer of RES Americas, Mr. Davis was responsible for leading commercial activities, including corporate strategy, technical and financial analysis, M&A, transactions, transmission, and new business. Prior to joining RES, Mr. Davis was Chief Executive Officer of Agile Energy, which he co-founded in 2004. The company primarily developed utility scale solar generation projects in North America with financial backing from Good Energies, Inc. During 2007 and 2008, Mr. Davis served as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer for Ausra, Inc.

Mr. Davis spent the first 18 years of his energy career with the AES Corporation, helping build it into one of the leading global independent power producers. At AES, he led the development, financing, acquisition, and sale of power generating projects on four continents. Mr. Davis served on the Board of Trustees of the Western Electricity Coordinating Council from 1998 through 2002.

Mr. Davis holds an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Sc.B. in Mechanical Engineering from Brown University.
