Rescue Runts Launches Weekly Donation Program to Pet Rescue Organizations Across the Country

NEW YORK, Oct. 1, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- In celebration of National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month in October, KD Kids, maker of the Rescue Runts line of adoptable plush rescue pets, announced the launch of a donation program that will support rescue organizations across the country. Each week between now and the end of 2018, the company will make a $500 donation to a local pet rescue organization.

Rescue Runts fans nominated local organizations they felt were deserving of a donation on the Rescue Runts website. To kick off National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month today, KD Kids revealed the October donation recipients:

• Dallas DogRRR (Dallas, TX)
• PAWS Chicago (Chicago, IL)
• Nevada Humane Society (Reno, NV)
• Bideawee (New York, NY)

The company is accepting nominations for donations in November and December, so animal lovers still have time to suggest the organizations they are most passionate about.

Rescue Runts are adoptable plush pets that kids rescue, groom and love. When they arrive in their crate-style packaging, these sad puppies have matted fur, pretend fleas (yucky bugs!), dirty paws, tears in their eyes, and downturned ears. Kids can clean up their Rescue Runt using the included grooming kit, complete with brush, collar, tweezer and towel.

To complete the amazing transformation:

• Pick out the fleas with the included tweezers;
• Remove the cast;
• Brush their messy fur with the included brush;
• Clean the dirt from their paws with the included towel;
• Wipe away their tears;
• Perk up their ears to make them happy at last; and
• Give them a name and write it on the included collar to complete your adoption!

Rescue Runts need regular grooming, love and care to stay clean, healthy and looking their best! Over time, their fur will become messy again and dirt will reappear on their paws, so kids need to brush them each day and clean them up again and again. Kids can also rewrap the cast, replace the fleas and flip their ears up or down for repeated animal rescue play.
